전곡선사박물관은 동아시아 최초의 아슐리안형 주먹도끼 발견으로 세계 구석기 연구의 역사를 다시 쓰게 만들었던 역사적 현장인 전곡리 구석기유적에 건립된 유적박물관이다. 전곡리 구석기유적지에서 출토된 아슐리안형 주먹도끼등의 구석기 유물들을 중심으로 인류의 진화와 구석기시대 문화를 체계적으로 이해할 수 있도록 다양한 주제의 유물들로 전시공간을 구성하였다.
