바다와 인접한 시흥은 흥미로운 탐방지들이 많다. 특히 관곡지는 우리나라 연재배의 시초가 된 곳으로 한 여름 백련이 만개할 무렵이면 그 아름다움이 절정에 이른다. 인천의 바다까지 이어지는 갯골은 소래염전이 있던 곳으로 농게, 방게, 칠면초 등 다양한 갯벌 생물들이 서식하고 있어 아이들과 함께 둘러보면 좋다. 오이도의 조개구이도 놓치지 말자.
