현대어린이책미술관은 국내 최초 책을 주제로 한 어린이 미술관이다. 그림책을 통해 어린이들이 자신을 이해하고, 스토리에 담긴 의미와 타인을 이해하는 방법을 흥미롭게 경험할 수 있도록 전시와 교육 활동을 진행하고 있다. 어린이의 관점에서 82개의 주제어로 분류한 6천여 권의 국내외 우수 그림책을 열린 서재에서 만날 수 있고, 상상력을 자극하는 기획 전시와 연계 프로그램, 작가와 함께 하는 워크숍, 전문 에듀케이터들의 장단기 교육 프로그램이 운영되고 있다.
