동두천에 있는 양키 시장은 마치 영화에서 봄 직한 특수부대 요원들이 입고 다니는 독특한 옷과 모자 그리고 총을 제외한 장비가 가득한 곳으로 그냥 구경하는 것만으로도 재미있는 시장이다. 동두천의 지역 경제가 미군 2사단을 중심으로 활성화되었던 60년대에 미군 부대의 보급품과 수입품을 주로 판매하던 상점과 유흥업소가 이 시장 주변에 밀집되어 있으면서 호황을 누렸던 곳이나, 지금은 캠핑족들이 장비를 구입하기 위해 몰리고 있는 곳이다.
