큰시장은 1960년부터 인근 지역 농민들이 직접 생산한 식품을 물물교환을 하면서 자연스럽게 개설된 시장으로 매달 5,10일 단위 마다 5일장이 열리며, 109개 점포로 이루어져 있고 상가주택 복합형 형태의 중형 규모 시장으로 상설로도 운영된다. 큰시장은 축제도 열고 다양한 경품행사와 상품권 발행 등을 시행하고 있고, 축제와 이벤트에 참여하는 재미가 가득한 시장이다.
