물봉선어린이공원은 여름철에 물놀이장으로 운영된다. 시설이 높지 않고 수심도 얕아 아이들이 물놀이하기 좋다. 물놀이장 근처에 벤치와 운동시설 등 편의시설도 마련되어 있다. 물놀이장은 45분간 가동된 후 15분 휴식시간이 주어진다. 안전을 위해 안전요원이 배치되며, 시설물 안전을 위해 만 5세 이하 어린이는 보호자와 함께 이용해야 한다. 또한, 영·유아의 안전을 위해 만 12세 이상 청소년 이용은 자제된다. 외부용 신발은 신을 수 없고, 아쿠아슈즈 착용을 권장한다.
