철계단집은 당일 도축된 국내산 생 암퇘지를 급냉하여 직접 썰어 제공하는 삼겹살 전문 식당이다. 주택을 개조해 만든 식당 내부의 레트로풍 감성 인테리어는 1980~90년대에 온 것 같은 느낌을 준다. 입장 시 보리차와 함께 밑반찬으로 파절이, 계란말이 등을 먼저 세팅해 준 뒤 네모반듯한 모양의 급냉삼겹살을 내어 준다. 삼겹살의 고소한 맛과 함께 구워 먹는 새콤한 묵은지가 일품이다. 함께 곁들여 먹기 좋은 진한 소고기 된장찌개와 엄마손 김치찌개도 인기 메뉴다.
