현재는 폐역이 된 능곡역 인근에 위치한 능곡할머니북어탕은 전통의 북어탕 맛집이다. 이곳은 1대 주인장 할머니께서 젊은 시절 1970년대부터 시작하여 지금까지 50여 년이 넘은 역사를 자랑하는 식당이다. 능곡할머니북어탕의 대표메뉴는 반건조 북어 한 마리가 들어간 얼큰한 북어탕이다. 품질 좋은 반건조 북어를 비범 양념과 함께 푹 쪄내기 때문에 비린내는 없고 식감은 쫀득하다. 두부사리와 라면사리를 넣어 먹으면 더욱 맛있다. 또, 이 식당의 별미인 강원도 고랭지 배추로 담근 김치인데, 아삭하면서도 시원한 맛이 일품이다. 북어탕과 고랭지 김치는 모두 포장, 택배가 가능하다.
