시흥시에서 가장 먼저 설립된 공공도서관이다. 3층 건물의 A동과 지하 1층, 지상 3층의 B동으로 이루어져 있다. 대야도서관은 지역 문화 예술인과 함께하는 인문학 산책, 도서관 견학, 도서 문화 사업 및 논술 지도자 자격 과정 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
